MetroGrace gathers, trains, sends and coaches teams to develop gospel-centered, community based churches in neighborhoods throughout the city.
Summer interns learn, grow and serve for 6-8 weeks. During that time, they experience other MetroGrace ministries and gain exposure to urban ministry partners. Their service may include the following: prayer walks, contact making, one-on-one evangelism, outreach events, Vacation Bible School, youth ministry, children ministry, summer day camp, teaching, preaching, leading worship, serving at a rescue mission, hosting short-term mission teams, home visits, encouragement ministries, food distribution and more.
Summer interns must be at least eighteen years old, having demonstrated the ability to live on their own. College students and graduate students may receive credit for their service. Check with your academic advisor.
Summer interns may serve as volunteers without financial remuneration. Or, they may raise support as short-term urban missionaries, receiving a salary to help with expenses.
Dr. Jim Brown provides oversight for the internship program. Individual programs are designed and adapted to fit the specific gifting and needs of each intern. Interns are paired with an experienced urban leader who provides day-to-day supervision.
