Two-Year Church Planter Internships
Two-Year Church Planter Internship
MetroGrace gathers, trains, sends and coaches teams to develop gospel-centered, community based churches in neighborhoods throughout the city.
MetroGrace provides a two-year training program for those leading church planting teams. Interns discover personalized support as they serve in an urban church. They learn about urban church planting, complete an assessment process, work with a Neighborhood Research Team, formulate a plan for establishing a new urban church, find resources for their ministry and gather a church planting team.
Church planting interns live in the city and serve in an urban church to gain experiential knowledge about life in a major metropolitan area. During that period, those who will plant new, urban churches develop a love for people in the city.
Interns discover personalized support to fund their period of training. Most often, they will work a job as well. Often, employment in the city provides opportunities for building relationships with those who need to know the Lord.
Church planting interns develop the character, knowledge and skill to help them develop a healthy urban church. They will work with an experienced mentor as well as peers.
Church planting interns participate in an assessment process to discern their role on a church planting team. Those recognized as qualified leaders begin the process of team formation. Others find that their gifts are best suited for a different role on the team.
Church Plant Leaders work with a Neighborhood Research Team to formulate a plan for establishing a new church. They develop a Neighborhood Report and recruit Neighborhood Advocates to help gather resources and team members for developing a new urban church.
